primary day

This is not your home but you are here now: The name of my new blog. I read this graffiti while I was running in Carrboro. I’m sad I didn’t see it until now. It describes my attitude, and will describe it even more so in the future. Since I’ll be going though numerous moves in the next few months, it is very fitting.

Primary day: Today is North Carolina’s primary! Surprising that it actually matters this time. I’m not a registered voter here, but I wish I was, because I want to vote for Obama. I’m not really a political person, I always wanted to be, but it’s hard for me. I did really poorly on the AP US Government and Politics test in high school because none of the rules and complicated systems of voting made much sense to me. But this election is different, it doesn’t take a genius to realize it is going to go down in the history books as a really big friggin’ deal. I had theĀ privilegeĀ of seeing Barack Obama speak in the Dean Dome last Monday. It was so awesome. I don’t know if I like him just because he played basketball with Tyler and the boys, or if it’s because of his awesome new ideas and potential for change (yeah, I said it). I was SO moved by Barack Obama, I even went to his HQ on Franklin Street to get a poster for my window. If I actually went though the trouble of getting the poster, you know he’s a big deal to me. Someone on my way home asked me where I got it, and when I told him he said he was going to get one himself. It made me feel like I was doing something right

Some things I am glad I did: I am glad I bought my plane ticket to Reno. Field camp here I come!
